How to store bananas for longer time

Most of us keep bananas on the kitchen counter to keep the skin from turning brown and long-lasting.

Unfortunately, the way to store bananas is not right. So, what about storing bananas in the refrigerator?

"Bananas can be stored on the kitchen counter until cooked, then they can be stored in the refrigerator for at least another two days or until the skin turns black," says Tamika Sims, PhD, Senior Director of Food Technology Communications at the International Food Information Council.

In short, it is best to only store bananas in the refrigerator after they are ripe as desired.

However, if you want to store bananas for longer, you can peel the bananas when they are ripe and put them in a special plastic bag for freezers or airtight containers that are safe for freezers. This storage can make bananas last up to a month.

Bananas are rich in potassium and are almost loved by everyone, from babies, children, adults, to the elderly.

However, the obstacle is saving and this can be a bit of a hassle. The reason is, bananas can bruise quickly, ripen too quickly, or not ripen fast enough if stored incorrectly.
